It has been decided that the next open Trust Board meeting will take place at 6pm on the 21st October (venue to be confirmed, but hopefully it will be at the Imp) after the Notts County match and that the Trust will hold its AGM at the same time.
If you are interested in joining the Trust Board, visit the “Newsletters and Docs” section of this website to download a nomination form and/or learn more about what being a Board member entails by viewing the Board Membership Policy/Declaration Form/Trust Rules. Alternatively if you would like to speak to a current Board member about getting involved, please give us a ring on 0870 4711827, leave your details and one of us will give you a call back.
As we told you last week, the Trust will be sponsoring Ricky Ravenhill’s shirt this season, but in addition, it was decided at the open Board meeting that the Trust will also sponsor three or four matchballs this season, instead of doing one big match sponsorship as we have done before. The Club will receive the same amount of money either way, but with the Trust having limited cash reserves at present, we cannot really afford to pay it out all in one go, so it makes more sense to do it in instalments, especially as the only game available to sponsor was on a Tuesday night in February when it was felt the Trust would struggle to recoup its outlay through auctioning off the seats. In terms of fundraising, we are hoping to hold a race night in early November and a quiz night in December and we are currently waiting for the Club to set a date for the jointly organised Fans’ Forum, which was publicised on the official GTFC website a few weeks ago. If you have a suitable local venue complete with plenty of enthusiastic punters and would be interested in hosting one of our fundraising race nights, please either give us a call on 0870 4711827 or email us at

. Race nights are an excellent way of raising a lot of money in the space of a few short hours, so the more we can do, the better. But we need to be able to vary the venues, because if we do the same thing at the same place too many times, people will just get sick of it. We are also looking to formalise an agreement with GTFC, whereby Trust members will receive priority after season ticket holders for tickets for cup games. This happened for the Spurs game last season, but not the Newcastle one so, to avoid confusion, we hope to have a proper agreement in place ready for the next big game. Finally, issue five of the “In Cod We Trust” newsletter will be posted out to members early this week, so if you’re a member and you haven’t received yours by the weekend, please let us know, as it may be you’ve changed your address and not informed us. Enclosed with the newsletter is a questionnaire and we would urge all members to complete it and send it back to us, as this is your opportunity as GTST members to voice your opinion and determine the Trust’s future fundraising policy. |
