We have recently received news from our friend and Trust member Raphael Axiak regarding the progress of the Maltese Mariners in the Gozo five-a-side league.

The team are doing extremely well in the league and are currently joint top with Man Utd SC Gozo, having played ten games, won nine and drawn one.

Having beaten their Liverpool counterparts 4-2 earlier in the season, they recently inflicted the same scoreline on Chelsea and are hopeful that they can go on to win the league this year.

The above picture shows the team in their new kit, which Raphael took back to Gozo with him following  his visit to Blundell Park to see the Accrington Stanley game in November. Raphael says that it was a dream for him to visit Grimsby and that the next time he comes over, he hopes to bring more of the Maltese Mariners with him.
