Can You Help Mariners Legend Jack?

Grimsby Town Supporter’s Trust are appealing to Mariners fans for help after being contacted by Frazer Lewis, son of former Town striker Jack Lewis, whose  attacking style won him an army of fans in the 1970s and a call up to the Wales squad.

Jack, who signed for Town from Lincoln City, scored 74 goals in 231 league appearances for the Mariners between 1969 and 1976.

Frazer got in touch recently after his father Jack lost a treasured video featuring footage from his playing career during a house move. The match at Blundell Park, between Doncaster Rovers and GTFC, was a seven goal thriller in which Jack scored a hat-trick, unfortunately against the Mariners.

Although his Dad was playing for Doncaster at the time, Frazer is very keen to get hold of a copy of that game, and indeed any other footage of Jack’s playing career that Town fans might have in their possession. Frazer tells us that, following a recent hip replacement, it would be a real boost to Jack’s recovery if any video footage turned up.

The Supporters’ Trust has already been in contact with Grimsby Town Football Club, but sadly no video footage of Jack exists in their archives. So, if you can help us to give a true Mariners legend an early Christmas present, please email us at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
