Grimsby Town Supporters' Trust welcomes the 12th Man initiative launched by Jonathan Spurr and his team. Jon has previously done excellent work raising money for charity and the Trust – work which has been much appreciated.

In principle, the Trust supports any initiative that benefits the football club and community in the way that Jon and his team propose.  However, at this stage it’s difficult for us to comment further because we were only made aware of the idea less than 48 hours before it was announced on November 6th.  

More in-depth discussions are necessary before GTST can be precise about how we will integrate with 12th Man and to what degree the Trust (and in turn GTFC) will benefit from the project.  

Trust Chair Emma Blackbourn has already had initial discussions with Jon Spurr and will be attending a meeting that members of the 12th Man campaign are having with GTFC’s Chairman John Fenty to learn more.  

We wish Jonathan and his team the best of luck and we look forward to backing 12th Man with our support as it builds momentum.
