The Grimsby Town youth team once again proved to be the light in the midst of a dismal season, as they lifted the Midland Youth Cup following a 1-0 win against Shrewsbury.

A Bradley Wood penalty late in the game gave the young Mariners, who were the better team, a deserved win. The whole team performed well and a number of the squad should be looking to break into the first team next season, regardless of which division we are in.
