At the Grimsby Town Supporters Trust AGM, held at McMenemy’s on Thursday 7th April 2005, the following members were unanimously elected to the Trust Board:
Bev Altoft
Matt Lewis
Dave Roberts
Mike Taylor
They will serve alongside current Board members:
Dave Otter
Dean Wright
Rachel Branson
Gill Appleyard
Dave Smith (co-opted)
Duncan Hardcastle (co-opted)
Former Board members Mike Green (elected) and Mark Thomas (co-opted) resigned during 2004 due to work/personal commitments, whilst Kevin Bourne (co-opted) tendered his resignation prior to the AGM due to increasing work commitments. All three have been involved with GTST from the very beginning, and the Board would like to thank them for all their efforts on the Trust’s behalf, and is in no doubt that they will continue to help out as much as their other commitments will allow.
During the AGM, the Trust's Aims and Objectives for the coming year were outlined as follows:
- To continue to increase membership and strive to have 500 members inside the next twelve months.
- To encourage each existing member to recruit one new member (or more).
- To encourage more active participation of GTST members to help spread the workload and generate more diverse ideas for fundraising/community support.
- To encourage the local business community to support their local club to a greater degree.
- To launch an improved junior membership package, providing additional incentives to join GTST, working in conjunction with the Club.
- To help secure the future of GTFC and in so doing continue to increase the Trust’s shareholding in the Club via the Keep the Mariners Afloat campaign.
- To continue fundraising, with the objective of raising £50k over the next twelve months.
- To continue to work closely with GTFC, using the strong relationship that has been built up to represent the views of the supporters at board level where appropriate.
- To be actively involved in GTFC’s progression and development at a strategic level and recognised as a real asset by the Club.
- To continue to promote programmes of public concern and work with the club where possible, e.g. Kick Racism out of Football campaign.
