ANOTHER £5,000 DONATED...

Grimsby Town Supporters’ Trust Chairman Dave Otter was delighted to present a cheque for £5,000 to the football club on the pitch before the historic Spurs game. There was generous applause from all four sides of the ground as the presentation took place which must have been encouraging for all Trust members.

The Tottenham game was amazing and will live forever in the memories of the Town fans that were there. It’s on nights like that that we are reminded of the importance of having a local football club. Without a Grimsby Town football club to support, there would have been no positive national exposure for the town, no visit of top international players, no wonder-strike, no celebration, no pitch invasion, no feel-good factor.

Nights like the Spurs game are rare but fantastic when they come around. The club still has major financial problems despite the money the game generated and the £15,000 already donated to the club by the Trust has been gratefully received. The total raised so far is in excess of £16,000 and the Trust hopes to present the next £5,000 sum to the club as soon as possible.
